Before my first worldcup start in Kitzbühel 2007, I did my first interview to the national television. My goal was to take 5 gold medals in the next Olympics or the one after that. It didn’t really work out that well but I’m on my way……

I was born in Mustasaari on the 4th September 1989. My personality has been there since my birth, easygoing guy who likes food and fun. I was luckily born to a family with two gymnastic teachers as parents, so when my sister (Tii-Maria) and I grew up we did all kind of sports, everything from sailing to football. My skiing career started at a young age in purnuvuori (a small ski slope near my grandparent’s house) when I was only 3 years old. I have tried almost all sports, but skiing was my thing. I loved the freedom you have on the skis, the speed you can produce and the feeling when you overcome your own fears. My home slope Öjberget is only 45m high but it was a great place to learn how to ski and I skied, a lot.

At the age of 15 I decided it is time to leave mom, dad and my home slope behind me and take the next step in my career. I moved to Kuusamo, to study and train with the best skiers of Finland at the ski gymnasium (high school/college), Rukan Alppikoulu. I had the best time of my life and 4 years went really fast. I graduated 2009 with pretty good degrees and had then already taken part in two senior world championships, three Junior World championships with a third place as the best result and won the national championships.

A lot has changed during these last years but I still have one goal; to become the best skier in the world.
